As a Linux fanboy, I see Big Sur like a premium Ubuntu but the best part of my macbook M1 is the hardware. It is always good to try and master any kind of OS out there. Congratulations! You have successfully installed the most secure and good looking OS on the market! You will be asked your password and to give permissions to VMware to run extensions on the system. Sign in and you should see the VMware Tools package on the desktop. Select the Darwin File located in the tools folder inside unlocker folder.

Ok almost done! Now we need to install VMware tools for Mac OS.

Just proceed with the Mac OS installation. Give a new name to the drive and click Erase! Now we can install the OS! Select your drive and click Continue. Finally you can start the VM and proceed to the OS installation! Before going further, we need to format the HDD into Mac format. vmx file and open with notepad or any editor. Now right-click on your new VM and select Open VM Directory. This means it works!Ĭhoose the location you want to install the VM and select next.
Let’s run VMware Workstation to see if it worked. Installation should be very quick, then chose “y” for yes to download VMware Tools or n if you don’t have it. Once in the command prompt, navigate to the location of your extracted folder using the command cd. Just click start and type cmd to quick search. Mac OS operating systems need a large amount of RAM to work, You should provide it with about 4GB RAM. Enter a name for the virtual machine and select a Mac OS version suitable for the Mac OS version that you have downloaded. Now you will need to run CMD or your favourite terminal as Admin. On the VirtualBox, create a new virtual machine. Once downloaded,using your favourite archive extractor (I use WinRar), extract the folder wherever you want it. Download the most recent release for Windows.
